PlayStation 5 Slim, or a newer model?

Sony is set to release a slimmer PlayStation 5 in November with a detachable disk.

PlayStation 5 slim Features and Specs

The First question which majority of the people might have is, “What’s new?”. Here’s everything we know;

As Sony Says, The new PS5 is more then 30% smaller (by volume), and 24% Lighter then the original version. The older version had two side panels but in the newer version there are four: The top 2 are glossy, while the bottom ones are the same matte finish as the older version. The bottom layer seems to come off to allow users to install a disk drive later which may be the the main reason for the change.

Additionally, The newer version comes with a bit more storage: 1TB while the former had a storage of 825GB which many would find a slight increase. General specifications remain the same.

What’s The Price?

The new version of the PlayStation 5 will come in two versions, just like the original. One having a disk while the other being Digital-only. A slight improvement could in storage and design could have meant a slight increase in price as well but guess what, that is not the case. The disc version costs $499.99 while the digital version costs $449.99 having no change in price whatsoever.

Surprisingly, Sony is also offering a few add-ons. While the PS5 will come with a horizontal stand, you can pick up one to display your PS5 vertically which will come at a price of $29.99 which will be sold separately.

Also, If you get the digital version and would like to have a disk drive then congratulations, you can!. The separate Disk drive will cost you $79.99.
